About Me

Hello, my name is Kay Stevenson

Welcome to my world. My name is Kay Stevenson, and I have been a resident of Wilby for 25 years. For the past 17 years, I have been a widow following the death of my husband in 2006.

My journey in Wilby started with a property that needed a lot of modernising, money, hard work, patience, and a lack of sleep, holidays, and comforts. When Kevin passed away, I gave up my job in Human Resources and found work in a florist. It was through this work that I discovered my love for funeral arrangements, which I still do for family and friends. This experience allowed me to witness the grief of loved ones and inspired me to find a way to help in some way.

One day, a friend asked me to write a eulogy and order of service for a loved one, and I threw myself into the task. It was an act of love, and I have been writing eulogies for others ever since. Eventually, I trained to become a funeral celebrant, and it was a natural progression for me.

But that’s not all. As I have been living alone, my four beautiful Labradors (since passed) and my current girl Tiree have been my constant companions. The loss of each one of them broke my heart in a way that only a pet lover could understand. It was then that I realised being a Pet Celebrant could bring comfort and closure when a furry companion passes away.

I am passionate about what I do because it’s not only people who break our hearts. As someone once said, “By all outward appearances, he was a dog. He had four paws and a tail and barked like a dog. But to me, he was and will always be The Perfect Gentleman.”

So, if you are looking for someone to help you commemorate your loved one, whether it’s a human or a furry friend, I am here to help.

Remember, what you leave behind is not what is engraved on stone monuments, but what is woven into the hearts and lives of those you loved.
